a | part is a graphic design studio founded by Claude Gaasch and Claude Moyen in 2004. a | part provides communication and cultural objects that favour concept over form. The studio is specialized in the cultural sector and deals with all areas of graphic design: visual identity, illustration, posters, campaigns, publicity, web design, signs, etc.
a | part has collaborated with the main cultural institutions in Luxembourg : Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain, Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, Musée national d’histoire et d’art, the City of Dudelange art centres, Luxembourg 2007, Rockhal, etc.
Since 2006, the studio has worked on the corporate identity of the University of Luxembourg, based on the original logo created by Olivier Lamy. The catalogue Cloaca – Wim Delvoye 2000-2007, a complete monography of the Cloaca project, was published with Casino Luxembourg – Forum d’art contemporain.
In 2007 the studio designed the “work in progress” visual identity of the opderschmelz cultural centre, which opened its doors in the Arbed industrial zone. The same year, it created an open cross media campain for the Centre National de l’Audiovisuel.
a | part reworked the look of woxx weekly, the alternative voice of the Luxembourg printed press, by giving it a hybrid format somewhere between a daily and a magazine. In 2008, a | part was the graphic design studio that won the most awards at the Communication & Design Awards Luxembourg.
In 2009, it developed new identities for the Luxembourg City History Museum and the Villa Vauban and was awarded at the red dot design awards for the corporate identity of the carrérotondes cultural space and the catalogue for European Month of Photography.
Major projects in 2010 are the Luxembourg brochure for the Shanghai World Expo 2010, the Luxembourg National Tourist Office brochure for local products, the foodmap.lu website, the myenergy trade fair display as well as the myenergy days crossmedia campaign.
